12-Month Subscription to Virtual Animal Anatomy - Single Licenses

Virtual Animal Anatomy (VAA) includes a complete canine anatomy program, and partial equine, bovine, and feline anatomy programs. VAA is distributed as an external tool for learning management systems (e.g. Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, D2L, etc.). Administrator access to a learning management system is required to run this version of the program. This version of the program is for institutional use only. Individual and student subscriptions are available at this site, which don't require a learning management system. Google Classroom is not supported at this time.

We will be offering a 50% discount on these subscriptions for version LTI 1.1 through April 1, 2025.

The annual pricing is determined on a per-seat basis, based on the anticipated total user numbers. When determining your seat number, please calculate the maximum number of students you expect at any given time. Students can change throughout the year if you ensure that previous students no longer have access to the program.

Please contact us for pricing if you need more than 400 licenses. We will contact you with credentials to install Virtual Animal Anatomy after purchase. If you do not receive a follow-up email within one business day, please contact us for assistance.

You can use this site to add years to active subscriptions. We will add a year from your current expiration date after purchase.

Virtual Canine Anatomy (VCA) is an innovative anatomy program that has received outstanding accolades from members of the American Association of Veterinary Anatomists, students, and instructors both in the United States and internationally. VCA enhances the students’ dissection experience and helps them learn anatomy efficiently (Linton et al., 2005; Linton et al., 2021). The equine, feline, and bovine programs are modeled after VCA, and are in various stages of completion. You can view examples of Virtual Animal Anatomy in this video and in this webinar

All of our Virtual Animal Anatomy programs allow the luxury of self-paced, individualized learning and provide a focal point around which the instructor and student can exchange ideas and make interpretations of anatomical content. VCA and VEA include images of dogs and horses, respectively, that were donated for use in these educational tools with the goal of reducing unnecessary animal use for anatomy instruction. The strictest humane treatment was used during for all of this work and all animals were humanely euthanized before being dissected for use in the program. All work was pre-approved by the Colorado State University (CSU) Animal Care and Use Committee.

VET is a not-for profit organization within CSU. This work has been financially supported by the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS), the Alternatives Research and Development Foundation, and the CVBMS College Research Council USDA Experiment Station research grant.
